Have you have been looking around for a not too difficult way that you can get started learning how to make money online?
If so your in luck, because today I have a very easy example that you can duplicate to get your affiliate links in front of people for literally no money at all. But with that said, it would surely help make this tactic work by needing to spend around $5-8 dollars.
This is a very low barrier of entry and you may not even have to spend that if you don't want to.
Ok enough with the introduction and let’s get down to business. As always we are going to start out with good keyword research to clearly identify who needs your services or product.
What we will be doing is essentially building email lists and sending them materials to be sold later on after you have built a relationship with them.
Starting off you will need a Google mail account. This will be so you can set up your alerts. You can go into this the way most beginning marketers do and simply type in a generic term for your alert or you can go a little deeper like I suggested in the beginning of this article.
It should be a niche that you have a fair amount of knowledge in so you will not be struggling to come up with content. The main goal here is to provide value to your subscribers.
Next for this to work you will need to purchase a domain that we will forward to our auto-responder. You can pick one up at any number of domain registrars, but I prefer name cheap as they provide you with a free year of who is guard which secures your information from the public view.
Not a big deal when you’re just getting started but a person could find your billing information. Now that we have the domain let’s talk about building that email list.
An auto responder is what we need and like I mentioned you can get this mailchimp but I prefer Aweber. They are running a FREE 30 Day Special so now would be a great time to get them if it fits your budget.
But essentially you will need to set up what and when they will receive the content that you have promised them and will most definitely solve the problem that they are having.
On that note let’s talk a little about the mindset and what will help you have success in this online business venture. If you are going to go after this method then I want you to absolutely concentrate solely on getting people to your email list.
Do not get caught up with any other method or “shiny object” that pops up on YouTube or in the Warrior Forum. One of my mentors has always talked about this and it is true.
If you don’t take the time to specialize in a certain area, then the time will pass and you will be in the same spot as before but just a little bit deeper in the hole.
Stop spinning around and make a consorted effort to have success online with email marketing. Now I’m not saying quit learning, but what I am saying is quit learning about other methods until you have mastered at least one. 
And in this case that would be email marketing. But for right now we are going to focus on List Building. Because we cannot begin email marketing until you at least have a list to market to.
Starting out with Google alerts is the best way for someone who does not have a whole lot of expendable money but I will not lie to you and say you will get great results in a large niche.
That is why you must really identify what the person is searching for and craft your free gift around it. Another big and redundant and is to search for what is specifically being asked for. That way you can get out from under all the general and noise and marketers.
Take the example of model trains, which is a hot niche I might add, but instead of placing an alert for simply model trains…you place one for Vintage Lionel Model Trains.
Those are one of the most sought after and expensive model engines on the market. In order for you to really have a chance at building a successful online business means you will have to ingrain into your mind that it must be a subject that you are passionate about and have some knowledge of.
The reason is you are going to be commenting on articles or videos and you need to have some good snippets of content to contribute to the conversation.
You can even break it down into a 3 part answer. The first part would be to grab the writer and the other reader’s attention, next provide insightful content, and then finally place an intriguing call to action.
In this case I would write something like “The Top 5 Pieces Of Your Lionel Train You May Be Neglecting… or The Top 5 Reasons Why Your Lionel Train Is Loosing Value…” Bring in the curiosity factor so the readers cannot resist clicking and getting on your list.
After that of course make sure you provide them with the related answer. This can be applied not only to Google alerts but the website Quora.com will now email you periodically with questions that are closely related to ones you have already answered. In the beginning you will just focus on building a large general list and as time goes on you might be able to segment them with different sub interests.
We have Alerts and we have Quora, then there is of course forum marketing. As you may well know, forum marketing takes some time so it would be a good idea to find some relevant forums when you make your alerts and sign up for them.
Those need age and trust to be built up within them. Next, have a look at Google Groups. I don’t know how active people are on them anymore but it’s worth a shot.
So, does this sound like a lot of work? Well it is. I guess I should have put a tiny disclaimer in the title that said “The Best Way To Start A Business Online If You Have Little Money.” But since I didn’t I guess I will explain how you can get subscribers faster to your list if in fact you do have a little bit of a budget as well.
If you do some cash to throw around then I would suggest that you first make a list of at least ten or twenty of the top influencers in your selected category.
From there you can email the ones who happen to have a newsletter and ask them how much they would charge for a solo ad.
This is where you are going to pay for an email blast to their own subscriber list, to try and get them to join your own.
A few questions you will need to ask them is –
- How much do you charge?
- How big is your list?
- What is your open rate?
Right? Easy as can be…I hope. When you do get into buying solo ads you will need to have other elements in place also. Some such as a gripping email piece and a good landing page, but I will touch on those aspects later.
